Kate is an interdisciplinary writer. She has published two novels, several pieces of short fiction, memoir, one-person theatre/dance performance texts, and plays. Her work spans genres: literary fiction, fantasy, science fiction, creative non-fiction, and theatre.

Kate’s novel Blasted received an Honourable Mention in the Adult Category of the 2009 Sunburst Awards. The Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic is a juried award based on excellence of writing in two categories: adult and young adult. The awards are presented annually to Canadian writers with a speculative fiction novel or book-length collection of speculative fiction published any time during the previous calendar year.
Kate has been nominated twice for the Ontario arts Council’s K.M. Hunter Artist Award.
